due date.

8.8.2010
The big day is here!

...and I still look like this:
Photobucket
and this:
Photobucket
and this:
Photobucket
and this:
Photobucket
and this:
Photobucket
and this:
Photobucket
and....that.

And hey, that's okay.
Baby Bob has been operating on his own schedule for the past 5 years... I certainly don't expect that to change now! He'll know when he's ready, and we will all be here waiting to kiss the junk out of him when he comes! (No wonder he's hiding out.)

Now, I'm getting back into bed.
It is tired in here!
Happy Sunday everyone!

nesting, and such. (part II)

Lookie what I made!
Okay, not so much "made" as:
1. thought up in my head,
2. purchased fabric for,
3. asked my awesome friend Sharese to cut out
(since I can't cut straight lines
- not even with a rotary cutter and guide-
to save my life)
4. and got my sweet, sweet, saintly, patient,
positively divine mother-in -law
to sew together...
but I had the idea...
and I picked out the fabric...
and I even cut out some of the silhouette appliques...
that counts for SOMETHING, right?
RIGHT!?
(are there too many dot, dot, dots in this post?)
Anyway, BEHOLD: Baby Bob's burp cloths!
...aren't they so cute!?

Kortland was a SERIOUSLY MAJOR barfer back in his newborn days,
so we wanted to be prepared in the event that Baby Bob followed suit.
These are so plushy and yummy, they make the prospect of catching (and harnessing) massive amounts projectile vomit sound downright exciting, don't ya think?

{My favorite shot, Bella was mortified (as I'm sure you can well imagine) that I caught her wee-weeing in the background.}

Stay tuned for the rhino and the weenie dog.
These three were all we were (meaning: all SHE was) able to completely finish today.
Thanks Mary Lee and Sharese! You're the best!

Bear.

Some of Aspen Grove's fabulous new additions this year were bronze animal statues all over the main courtyard. Kortland loved climbing on them, and I loved having new points of reference by which to define his general whereabouts.

"I'll be over by the turtles!"

or

"I'll meet you by the bear!"

I must say, they have proven to be very convenient...

...except, of course, for when they try to eat him.

But all in all, I have to say: "Well done, Aspen Grove, well done indeed."

Lola hits the mountains (Part 7)

Breakfast.

The Cabin is called "Moose Ridge" (hence, the plate selection.)

And a little morning stroll...

Celeste's Parents were so wonderful to take the kids on regular hikes and walks (giving the moms a little quiet time to clean up the breakfast mess, chat for a bit, and even read a few pages in our books.) Don't you love it when you can sit in a room with friends and feel completely comfortable not saying a word? We did a lot of that. Group reading sessions. Gotta love 'em.
I love Kortland and Bubs in this photograph.
2 buddies, setting out for adventure.
Does life get any better than this?

Lola hits the mountains (Part 4)

Dogs.

Charlie.
Great Dane + Springer Spaniel
=
most. delicious. creature. ever.
Sexy beast I tell ya,
she is one sexy beast.

and we can't forget Bubbuh.
he was lucky enough to have kortland mix up a
delicious batch of
"dog soup"
for his dining pleasure
A delightful mixture of
water
snow
(yes, there was still snow)
dirt
and
dog food.
Mmmmmmm.
"Really mom? Really?"
(a little "gentle" coaxing from kortland)
"That's a no thanks there buddy"
"I think I just threw up a little in my mouth."
