Thoughts.

*Halloween was fun.
*Sitting on the floor of Bryan and Cristi's apartment with all of my brothers and their cute wifies and gorging ourselves on sushi and strawberry cheesecake is on of my new favorite pastimes.
* I am so ready to have elections over and done with, I can't even tell you.

Photobucket
* The dog hair in my life is getting overwhelming.
Photobucket
*Our friends' Peter Pan Themed costumes for the whole family are so DARN cute, don't you think?
Photobucket
*I just finished (and loved reading) the second book in the "Hunger Games" series.
Translation: The house is a mess and my boys ate PB&J for dinner.
Photobucket
*This is the cutest Peter Pan ever.
He is perfectly representative of:
1. How much 3 year olds like being put into costumes,
and 2. How much 3 year olds like photo shoots.
Photobucket
*Tennyson is wearing 6-9 month pajamas.
He is 2 and a half months old.
This fact would normally reduce me to tears...
if his chub-a-bub-a-ness wasn't so utterly delightful
(which, it is).
Photobucket
*Isn't this little Tink the cutest thing ever?
Photobucket
*I need to go to the Art Museum more often. I didn't even know it had these gorgeous gardens out back!
Photobucket
*I don't have any more "Ask Lola" questions to answer. (hint, hint)
Remember, all questions must be anonymous and can be left in the comments sections OR in the formspring box at the top, right-hand side of this little blog-a-log.

Kortland is being SO GREAT in school this year. Thank heaven for sweet boys and even sweeter teachers!

TODAY

Photobucket
Today is a clean the house, drink pumpkin spice hot chocolate, fold some laundry, watch Oprah and cry, snuggle a baby, read a good book, write in my journal, listen to the rain as it pummels my tin roof, trip over an underfoot, thunder and lightening-terrified Bubbuh about a hundred times, and "Wouldn't ya know it? Santa Clause is in my bath tub!" sort of day.

What sort of day is YOUR "today?"

Lovin'/Not Lovin'

Photobucket
Lovin' this mug.
Not Lovin' the fact that he keeps stealing poopy diapers from the trash and ripping them open all over the place. Okay, it's our bad for putting them in an "open" trash can... but still.
Photobucket
Lovin' Miss Bella's sweet mug as well.
Not Lovin' the way she keeps getting drinks from the toilet and then trying to kiss the baby.
(Worry not, we don't actually LET her! ...What kind of a parents do you think we are?!)
Photobucket
Lovin' Bubbuh's happy squinty face.
And honestly, what's not to love about that?
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Lovin' my new berfday apron.
Not Lovin' my bony butt toes! ha ha!
Photobucket
Lovin' my new berfday earrings.
(Thanks Natasha! I am wearing them to death... They are so, so perfect for fall.)

Not Lovin'
my poor, spotty face. (Courtesy of pregnancy hormones and changes).
I AM, however, Lovin' the baby that I got out of said pregnancy,
so, I guess I will gladly take the spots that came with the little treasure thankyouverymuch.
Photobucket
Lovin' my new dishtowels (that happen to match my new apron).
Also Lovin' my weathered, bleached-out deck.
Not Lovin' the splinters that go with it.
Photobucket
Love, Love, Loooooooovin' these two.
Photobucket
Photobucket
And I'm pretty sure there's nothing to "not love" (double negative - yessss.) about this pair, so I guess we'll end here! What are YOU lovin' and not lovin today?

The girls at Communal Global are sharing their todays.
Share yours with us! Link up and link back!

Today I learned...

That my poor little dude has officially inherited my (terrible, horrible, no good, very bad) tendency to get intense (and sudden) bloody noses. (I also learned that he picks his nose in bed...like, a lot ;)
Photobucket
Did you know that I used to get horrible bloody noses as a kid? Well I did...and we're talking h.o.r.r.i.b.l.e. with a capital H!
We're talking bleeding until I was dizzy or unconscious.
Photobucket
We're talking sitting in class at the Jr. High (SO NOT picking my nose, btw) and suddenly feeling that terrible, tickle-y trickle, and knowing (only a split second before the mortifying "first drip") that I was in trouble, and grabbing my nose, and throwing my head back, and saying to the teacher (in a cartoon-y, embarrassing voice) "I hab a bloody mose!" as I ran out of the room...
Photobucket
We're talking bleeding for two-hours straight while staring hopelessly into a dingy-white honey-comb tile floor in the girl's bathroom, and getting so frustrated and angry that I was reduced to sobs (which inevitably made the bleeding pick up speed and last longer).
Photobucket
We're talking finally going to the principal's office when I know it isn't going to stop, (and I can hardly walk because I have about half as much blood pumping through my veins as a NORMAL person would/should have) and having any number (like, at least 6) of stupid (ahem, I mean, "well-meaning") adults say "Just put a cold compress on your neck and tilt your head back." to which I would have to reply (miserably...through a bus-sized tissue covering the entire lower region of my face) "I can't tilt my head back, it'll make me bomit bwood." (And yes, you really do sound like a two year old when trying to talk through 16 layers of tissue and a pinched nose.)
Photobucket
We're talking mom coming to get me and then taking me to the clinic...
we're talking cauterization (you know, when they stick a red hot poker up your nose and burn the blood vessels to kingdom come) after cauterization, after cauterization, and it doesn't even help, but gee the process of having red hot pokers stuck up your nose is just so much darn fun in and of itself, that really, heck, why not give it another go round?
So, I guess what I'm saying is: I really hope that he only "sort of" got my bad nose genes.
Photobucket
And, come what may, I especially hope that he'll stop picking his nose in bed...especially since I just got him a brand new IKEA comforter/pillowcase set. It's just so darn cute... don't you think?
It'd be a shame to cover it with boogers...

The ladies of Communal Global are hosting their weekly blog-link party, and today they want to know - What have you learned recently? I know! Right?

What's your favorite scent?

Over at communal global, we are talking about our favorite perfumes. I was really excited for this one because I love perfume. Love it. Can't wear it (cause it makes me super sick) but I love it none-the-less. Pretty bottles, expensive price tags, romantic insinuations...Really, what's not to love? As for me? Well, I smell like this:

Photobucket

This may come as a shock to most people, but I am not a big cosmetics girl. I don't own any fancy skin care lines with night creams and $90 astringents... I just use soap and water in the shower, and most of my make up comes from Walmart. I'm not gonna lie, my awesomely nice mom hooks me up with a few pricey items from Bare Minerals from time to time, which I love, but other than that, it's all fairly inexpensive. The same goes for hair care, though, I'll admit, my hair could/would probably be a lot better with the right products, but I just can't bring myself to spend $20 on hairspray when I can get it for $4. Such a cheapie cheapie...but hey, that's me.

Now I want you to share what scents you love wearing!

I want to see (and savor) the many pretty perfume bottles and other fun products you like to use. It will take like, 5 minutes - so take a pic, post about it on your blog, then link up here so we can all see!

Also, I survived my three hour glucose test! (yay!) I feel super crummy and tired, so I will post about it tomorrow. Thank you for all of the kind texts and emails and words of encouragement throughout the day. Having amazing friends can even make starving, and nasty sugar drinks, and lots of needles feel okay...who knew?

xoxo,
Lola
