Kort wasn't a huge fan of his first soccer experience at age 3...so we were pretty nervous about trying again. We dreaded dragging him to games and practices. We were embarrassed when he refused to listen to his coach, sat contentedly on the sidelines and made grass piles instead of playing, and then, when he finally DID play, we blushed when he stomped off the field in a huff (mid-play) because "They wouldn't let him kick a goal." It was sort of a rough go...
But soccer age seven? Well, that's a whole new ball game my friends!
He is focused at practice.
and listens to his coach (who we LOVE by the way)
He pays attention in the huddles...
and follows the leader...
and when coach says "Run." he says "How fast?!"
This is looking promising indeed!
(Above) a favorite shot of mine. He was telling all of the other kids what to do and how to do it... sooooo my kid. We're working on it ;)
Love the lips pursed in concentration.
And the very "self-satisfied" look he has after a nice hard kick into the goal! ha ha!
Okay, he DID take a moment to stomp on the shadows of his fellow teammates and proclaim "I'm stomping on your heads! ha ha!" ...but it was only a moment. That's to be expected from time to time, right? He also was the one responsible for naming the team:
Goooooooooo FireDRAGONS!
(And no, we don't have any idea where he got that from. Unless the hubs has been taking him to secret Darkon rendezvous at the park again ;) hmmm....
