sunday dinner.

Some of our favorite friends invited us over for some Sunday dinner. We have really missed them. (I've been sleeping for most of April and May, so it was about time we got out of our jammies and socialized a bit!) Have you ever wondered how to create the perfect Sunday dinner? Well I'll tell you.

Upon our arrival, we were especially honored when their 5-year-old son informed us that we were being treated to grilled, "hornish lame-hens!"

There were bright plates for the children...
Photobucket
...and there was a really cute baby girl. Just love those baby blues...
Photobucket
And let's not forget the dogs. I am like, the Godmother of these hairy little bundles of joy.
Photobucket
There's Rocky (above), the extremely chubby Beagle and pillager of all abandoned plates.
Photobucket
And then Miss Roxy. The oh so stoic/polite beggar. (If there is such a thing.)
Photobucket
And then there were the freckles. Mmmmmm. I just don't think I will ever get enough of those freckles.
Photobucket
...and a hubs. (don't think I'll ever get enough of him either.)
Photobucket
There were smiles.
Photobucket
And front tooth wiggling. (I am begging him to leave his front teeth alone... but alas, he wants that Tooth Fairy moo-lah. It is so depressing that he is growing so fast. He may be ready to part with those front teeth...but I'm sure not!)
Photobucket
There was Kool-aid-coveting-lip-licking. (and a Dad saying not yet, son...)
Photobucket
Then there was the Kool-aid riot/chant (I'll give you one guess as to who started it.) "We want Kool-aid! We want Kool-aid!" they cried.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Their demands? THREE kool-aids to be exact.
Photobucket
There were salt and pepper shakers, and sippy cups, and very busy children.
Photobucket
And there was also a little boy in attendance who thought he ought to make the most of the "outside dinner." So, he ate his chicken on the swing...
Photobucket
Photobucket
with the occasional visit to the slide.
Photobucket
and a tiny little one year old, ate her weight (heck, maybe even MY weight) in green beans, cheesy potatoes, and hornish lame-hen. (she REALLY loves her some hornish lame-hen, that one.)
Photobucket
And a boy showed off a beautiful red rock.
Photobucket
and those were the makings of one lovely Sunday dinner.

Those colorful plates and cups? I absolutely heart them. We got a set from IKEA and it's like playing house... :)
