A month of thanks: DAY 13

I'm thankful...

1...for a FREE ticket to the New Kids on the Block Concert this Saturday! Woooo-hoooo! I never got to go when I was little - so here's to makin' up for lost time baby! I am so excited!! Which leads me to ...
2...for jen - who scored me a free ticket to NKOTB and is accompanying me as my date! While I'm on the subject of Jen, why don't I tell you a little bit about what's great about her: (ahem) We are both cousins AND very good friends, but if you would have come up to us when we were ten and told us that we would love each other to death as adults, we would have laughed in your face. We fought like cats and dogs (or sisters) and did our best to make each other miserable growing up! I could go on and on, it was all pretty spectacular, but we don't have the time. Let me just say this: She was, without a doubt, the smarter rival! She ALWAYS got me into trouble and ALWAYS managed to make everything look like my fault. We're talking Sherlock Holmes Super Villain Mastermind here people! I'll tell ya what. (But don't get the wrong idea, if you had known me back then - you would have wanted to torture me too! I was no innocent, I can guarantee you that!) Flash forward ten years and, what can I say? One of my BEST FRIENDS. There is no one who loves and cares more deeply for her family than Jen does. She is an amazing mother to her step son, a doting wife to her husband, and a loving, respectful daughter who has brought nothing but honor to her parents and grandparents. I cannot tell you how many times she has called me in tears because she was so deeply upset by a tragedy that had befallen one of the people she loves. She "mourns with those who mourn" like no one I have ever met. She knows the names of great aunts and second cousins twice removed that I didn't even know existed! (A trait she gets not only from her mother, but from her grammy as well.) I could go on and on and on about my former arch nemesis, but then you're all gonna want to get to know her and hang out with her all the time, and I just can' have that. I need her schedule open to accommodate...well, ME! Ha ha! Love you Jen, you are THE best. (and not just because you scored us some super-sweet NKOTB tickets... it's also cause you're smokin' hot.)
3...for free NKOTB tickets. What? It's all I can think about - can you blame me?

I am super jealous! I looked into buying tockets, but I just couldn't justify spending $40. Especially since it's sort of weird. I mean, they are all in their 30s.

I know, right? I felt the same way. With Christmas just around the corner, I'm saving my money for all the random crap that always tends to come up, not to mention the $80.00 I always end up spending on food and pies for Thanksgiving... concert tickets are just NOT a top priority...but FREE concert tickets? My ONLY PRIORITY!

NKOTB baby! Can't wait!!
I'm off to fix my make-up! (you really should have posted a tissue disclaimer!)

LOVE YOU!!

I AM SO JEALOUS!!! Ohhhhh... I remember the day when i attended their concert back when I was like 10 in El Paso, TX!!! I heart Jordan! lol Do lots of screaming for me and try to hold back the tears when Jordan sings with the fan blowing on him in his unbottoned white shirt! Whew... I'm having to fan myself just thinking about it! ;)

What the heck? How did you know about the whole unbottoned white t-shirt and blowing fan thing? Did he do that back the day...? Cause he sure as heck did it again last night! ha ha ha! It was so much fun, but it was not the same without you guys. We actually talked about you guys at applebee's afterward, saying how much we missed you two.
