I like the way he thinks.

Kort lost yet another tooth this week whilst biting into what I'm sure was a totally delicious, {and totally legit} chicken nugget in the school cafeteria yesterday. So, he put it in a baggie and slipped it under his pillow when we tucked him in last night. About 20 minutes later, he came running out of his room and begged for us to let him take a minute to write a note to the tooth fairy.

We relented.

He sat down at my new desk and scribbled out a quick note. Then, without another word, and without letting us have so much as a PEEK at it, he swept the note under his arm and whisked himself off to bed.

That night, when the "tooth fairy" went into his room to make the switch, this is what she found:

As I'm sure you can imagine, she had a really good laugh.
Then she wrote a reply.
{And added a little glitter, for good measure...
you know, cause fairies are ALL ABOUT the glitter.}

She set the tooth back on the paper and slipped it under his door.

He was THRILLED to find it the next morning.
{Well, thrilled AND a little bummed about the
negatory on his request for a thousands G's.}

And it turns out, that not only does he still believe in the tooth fairy,
he still believes in Santa too!
WHA?
Yeah.
The other night when he said he thought it was "You and Dad."
I never fully admitted that it was,
I just said:
"Huh. Well, you shouldn't EVER say that to other kids, cause it will ruin Christmas for them."

So, I can only assume that he took that to mean that not believing in Santa ='s a pretty crummy Christmas...

...who knows?

Anyway. It was hilarious.
And fun to have the magic back.

His letter and the response are SO cute! My kids write letters to the tooth fairy with all sorts of questions for her. I don't know how she manages to answer them all... in that tedious swirly hand-writing... late at night... when she'd rather be sleeping. It gets less cute. :)
