A month of thanks: DAY 1

I'm going to try (fail with honor as Kyle calls it ;) to write down three things I'm thankful for every single day for the month of November. I thought that was a good idea, and everyone (myself especially) could benefit from a greater focus on the many blessings each of us enjoy in our very priviledged lives. So here goes:

I'm thankful...

1...that I got to go out to dinner with Cristi, Jackson, and my mom and dad, (while Kyle and Kort enjoyed a father and son, boys only football night) and talk and laugh and eat really delicious Crumbled Blue Cheese and Craisin Salad with a California Turkey sandwich at "the Paradise Cafe." An hour of enjoying Jack's big, toothless 1-year-old grin is enough to make anyone's month.
2...for my boys. Kyle is truly the love of my life. We're not big cuddlers, he's a very light sleeper married to a sleepwalker/sleepwiggler/sleeptalker all rolled into one, but I fell asleep snuggled up in his arms last night and I was so overwhelmed by how much I love him. I love to be near him, to smell him, to hear him, and to laugh with him. I love laying in bed and laughing at our favorite shows and then having something remind one of us of some random thing we wanted to tell each other, and then laughing our butts off about whatever that thing was...It's crazy to realize that there is truly nothing lacking, or missing or wanting in my life as long as I have him... a fact that is even more glaringly obvious when I find myself in his arms.
3...for the two lumps of fur snuggled up under my feet while I'm typing this. They bring our family so much joy and add such a lovely energy and spice to everyday living...I just adore them to pieces-even in spite of the fact that Bubbuh is currently emitting gas that could knock out a Rhino! Ha ha!
