Covered by Taken by Trees. Written by Animal Collective.

This is SOOOOOOOOO how I’m feeling these days.

Life is perfect just the way it is… I have a little house, and a little boy, and two snuggly dogs, and a little baby in my tummy, and a companion that I love more than I ever thought humanly possible. There REALLY isn’t much “that I feel I need.” And for that, I give thanks.

Thank you to my favorite little bird for posting this song so I might discover it!

“Quite possibly my favorite song of all time written by one of the best bands I know. Read the lyrics and I dare you not to fall in love. So- Merry New Year.”

"There isn't much that I feel I need
A solid soul and the blood I bleed
But with a little guy, and by my spouse,
I only want a proper house

I don't care for fancy things
Or to take part in the freshest wave,
But to provide for mine who ask
I will, with heart, on my father's grave
On my father's grave

I don't mean to seem like I
Care about material things,
Like a social status,
I just want
Four walls and adobe slats
For my boys”

I must, must, must comment on your blog. I have been a really bad friend and I found out over week and a half ago that you have a little one in your belly - and I have not called you to SCREAM congratulations at your beautiful face! Please forgive me and know we did a celebration dance in you honor. I love you and I'm so excited for your belly companion.
CONGRATULATIONS!

This is actually an Animal Collective song that Taken by Trees redid. The original is called, "My Girls" and is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Yeah, it says that this was originally by Animal Collective in my post title.

I would have included Animal Collective's music video with this post, but, while the song is amazing, their music video sort of makes me want to rip my eyeballs out and squish them on the floor.
